Loryn - Senior

Today I am continuing my post from last week of the two seniors who did their session together. There is still one more part of this I will hopefully get to later this week.

Loryn is also one of my students and she is always entertaining in class. I enjoyed working with her and seeing a different side of her behind the camera.

Third part, friend pictures, coming soon!

Happy Birthday Hubby!

Today is Paul's birthday!
He is the big 2-9 today!!! I can't believe he will be 30 next year... time flies!

I love this man! I never have words to explain it but he just makes me so happy.

He is loving, Christian man who leads me and provides for me.

He is handsome and a man's man.

He gets along well with everyone but still has his own views and opinions.

He is funny and very entertaining with a touch (or a lot) of sarcasm.

Happy Birthday my love!

All pictures from the very talented Ashley Gillen on our wedding day 10-29-11.

Shelbi - Senior

Earlier this year, I took pictures of two of my students one afternoon (the same day I found out I was pregnant). They also took friend pictures during this session. But for the first part I am going to only show you Shelbi's.

I had a lot of fun with these girls. They are two of my students so I really enjoyed taking their photos. Shelbi is one of my yearbook girls and she is really dedicated.

I will be posting more sessions soon and catching up on all of that goodness!

It is done!!!!!

Yes, the Yearbook is done... yes, this is late. Most of the time a yearbook for Spring delivery should be complete by the end of March. This includes having all the pages "published" by the beginning of March and then all the pages "proofed" by the end of March. As you can see by looking at the date we are a little behind. But I am just happy it is done.

This year has definitely been a struggle but it is over and now we are working on next year's book already. I want to make sure they are prepared and working while I am on my maternity leave.

Now we just need to publish two more issues of the Newspaper and my year will be complete!!!

No pictures this time, just had to let everyone know!!

17 weeks

How far along: 17 weeks

Baby size: an onion
5.9 ounces and 5.1 inches

Weight Gain: up 7 pounds

Gender: BOY!

Maternity clothes: I went shopping with my mom this weekend and bought some basic things. I have plenty of shirts and dresses I will wear but I mainly needs some work pants and jeans. Let me just say that was not a fun experience.

Sleep: Not too bad, just a lot of potty breaks.

Movement: Not yet, but hopefully soon!

Food cravings: I really want hamburgers and chocolate milk shakes

What I miss: Being secure in my body. I have always had a struggle with my weight and getting on the scale seeing that I am increasing in weight (although that is supposed to happen) is very hard for me. I feel like I have no baby bump but I am gaining everywhere else. That is not a fun sight to me since other people I see are all belly and so cute. It is hard not to compare to other people.

What I am looking forward to: Registering and planning the nursery.

Best Moment: Spreading the news about baby boy and buying him some clothes!

the photographer in me couldn't resist!

Pregnancy Symptoms: swelling, shortness of breath, and definitely emotional

Stretch Marks: nope, not yet. But I have had them before so there is a chance I get them but they have all gone away so I am not worried about it.

A few weekend ago, Hubby and I traveled to Austin to visit my best friend and her husband. We had a great time! We got in late Friday night and had dinner and then went out for ice cream. Then Saturday the boys went for a run and then we headed to South Congress to explore and have lunch. That afternoon we went paddle boarding. Whew, what a work out! That was tough but so much fun! Later that night we went to see a movie at Alamo Drafthouse. Before we left the next morning we went on a short hike then met some friends (including Poodleism) at Kerbey Lane for breakfast. Sorry for the lack of pictures, I am becoming really bad at that :(

I love those trips to visit friends, they are so relaxing and great to catch up with old friends. I miss my best friends all the time and wish we weren't adults so we could spend every weekend together!

excuse my husband

My best friend's husband's business, look him up if you are in Austin

Also, in great news... two of my very best friends were recently engaged!

the wackiness has only just begun

I posted about a Wacky Pack wedding we went to recently and but a couple weekends ago we had another shower for the second Wacky Pack wedding this year (Dayna, Meredith, Corey, and Taylor are all part of the Wacky Pack kids who are getting married this year.) We celebrated Meredith's upcoming marriage with a shower with all the gang. See more here, here, and here.

The good ole days

The first weekend of April, I spent some time with my girls from college. I love these girls and I am so glad they got to visit. Emily lives in the area, but Jaclyn and Ashley drove down from Dallas. We had a great time touring the Saint Arnold's Brewery, strolling The Heights, and eating out... love food! Talking was definitely something that we did all night and all day... we missed each other, we hadn't been together, all four of us, since the beginning of December. Can't wait to see them again. (sorry for the bad phone pics)

at the brewery... yes, I am drinking water

at Jus' Mac in The Heights area

And just because I have these two cute pictures and no post to put them on...

she loves when you hold her like this, she is spoiled

Cali always gets on my towels before I have time to fold them

16 weeks

How far along: 16 weeks and two days

Sleep: Not too great, I was too anxious about finding out the gender.

Best moment this week: Finding out the gender!!

Got this adorable outfit from Jenny the weekend before we found out the gender.

Movement: not yet

Food cravings: not really anything specific

What I miss: Good night's sleep

What I am looking forward to: Being able to register, decide on nursery decorations, start really planning!

4 years together

Today marks the day Paul and I went on our first date. A lot has happen between then and now (dating, proposal, marriage, pregnant with our first child) and we couldn't be happier.

I have no words for how much I love you. You make each day better and happier. Thank you so much for putting up with my crazy, pregnant self and being so supportive with my dreams. I can't wait to share this next part of our journey with you.
Love you!

It is a...

Baby C is going to be a boy!

Also, please pray for those injured and lost lives in Boston. This news just makes me so sad, but as a nation we will stand together.

Boy... or girl???

Today at about 3 o'clock, we are finding out what gender our precious baby is. It still seems surreal to me that I am growing a baby and that my best friend and I are experiencing this together (she just found out she is having a girl!). But once we find out the gender I think it'll really hit me.

I thought it would be really fun to compare old wife's tales to the gender once we find out:
Heart beat - above 140 beats per minute a girl, below 140 beats per minute a boy
Chinese Birth Chart - boy
Mayans - If mom's age and conception year are either both even or odd, girl. If they are either or, boy.
Cravings - My friends said that if you are craving sweet and fruity, girl. If salty and more meats, boy.
Breaking out - if yes, girl. If no, boy.
If you are moody, you are having a girl because of all the extra female hormones. Paul helped me with this one haha!
No morning sickness, it’s a boy.  A girl if you were sick or nauseous during your pregnancy.
If dad gains weight, it's a girl. If his weight stays the same, it's a boy.
You got dry hands; it's a boy.
If your nose swells, it's a girl. Same pre-pregnancy nose, it's a boy.
If your face swells and gets rounder, it's a girl. Long and narrow face, a boy.
If your legs get really big, means a boy. If your legs stay in shape and lean, a girl. This one I hate to admit but I feel like my legs started swelling but they just got thicker
If a toddler shows interest in you, you are having the opposite sex of the toddler. - boy based off my little bible study buddy!
Carrying low is a boy, high you are having a girl. - a little early but I think I am right.

boy - 9
girl - 5

What my family and friends think:
Paul and I
Mom and Dad
Sister-in-law and family
Emily P
Emily D

I brought a chalkboard up to school to have the students vote and it has been fun to see which gender they think I am having.

boy - 21
girl - 15

What do you think?

wedding time...

Mid-March we went to our second weekend of the year. But this time it was the first Wacky Pack wedding of the year, we still have three coming up before December.  (We had a shower for Dayna earlier in the year, see here.)

This wedding was gorgeous, they did a great job decorating for the rustic feel that is Dayna. I don't have anything but pretty much phone pics but enjoy!

Always a good time if you are wearing cowboy boots!
