our weekend away celebrating a marriage

Last weekend, Paul and I traveled to an adorable town, Fredericksburg, Texas. We have been there before. This is where we were engaged and it is where my friends from college spend one of our Christmas girls weekends.

But this time we were there for my brother's vineyard wedding!

Paul and I drove down with Ben early Friday morning to get there on time to get to the rehearsal. Ben enjoyed the drive there and he was a good boy the entire time. The only time we had a problem was when he would try to jump into the front seat but we just put up the console lid!

Once we got in town, we checked in to our B&B... Paul was excited! We wanted to stay in the same place we got engaged but it didn't allow pets so we just found another one. It was very comfy and had a great yard for Ben.

We then went to lunch real quick with my mom and my two grandmothers. Then came back to change for the rehearsal. Before the rehearsal Paul and I decided we want to stop by a few wineries that were on the 290 Wine Trail. We stopped by a newer one called 4.0 Cellars and then at Torre di Pietra. After Paul did a tasting at each, we headed to the rehearsal which was at Becker Vineyards (of course, the same place they got married at the next day).

Paul found a new friend

After the rehearsal we headed to the rehearsal dinner at Crossroads and I was in charge of documenting the entire thing (pictures to come soon after I edited through them). Once we had a tear-jerking speech from my dad we ate and watched the slideshow. Matt and Kelly (the guests of honor!) gave gifts to the wedding party as well. After the celebration was completed... it wasn't over. The whole crew headed to Hondo's across the street to meet others who had come in town for the wedding and dance! (Have you noticed this is just a huge advertisement for all things Fredericksburg?) Paul and I were exhausted so we left a little early but who could resist when our sweet Ben was at the B&B enjoyed the facilities without us!

The next day was an eventful day of wedding festivities... more on that later!

Sunday after the wedding, I took pictures (and Paul helped tremendously with the posing) of the wonderful new couple! Then we all met at Hondo's again for lunch. It was a great time to catch up with family and friends. Ben also was able to enjoy because Hondo's is pet friendly. And he was able to meet my friend Taylor's puppy as well as her boyfriend's lab, Kenzie and Wylie. He loved getting to know other dogs.

More to come from our weekend with the wedding pictures and the day after session... stay tuned.
